IUP Hockey raises $1,043 for Movember

The IUP Men’s Hockey program once again demonstrated its commitment to community service and men’s health awareness by raising $1,043 through its Movember initiative, with all proceeds donated to the Western Pennsylvania Veterans Association.

Movember, an annual campaign dedicated to raising awareness for men’s health issues, aligns closely with the values of the IUP hockey program. The funds raised help support critical causes such as prostate cancer awareness, testicular cancer awareness, and mental health and suicide prevention, while also honoring and supporting local veterans.

This year’s donation event was marked by the presence of several distinguished guests, including District Attorney Robert Manzi Jr., Sheriff Robert Fyock, and U.S. Army Veteran Greg Davis, whose attendance highlighted the strong connection between the program, community leaders, and local veterans’ organizations.

The 2025 campaign adds to an already impressive legacy. Over the past eight years, IUP Men’s Hockey has raised more than $10,000 through Movember, reinforcing the program’s long-standing dedication to making an impact beyond the ice. Each season, players, coaches, and supporters rally together not only to compete at a high level but also to use their platform to promote awareness and positive change.

By continuing to support Movember and the Western Pennsylvania Veterans Association, IUP Men’s Hockey shows that its mission extends far beyond wins and losses. The program remains committed to fostering leadership, service, and awareness—proving once again that the Crimson Hawks are making a difference both on the ice and in the community.
